Jack Bussler of Winthrop, Minnesota, bagged his first bird with grandpa Don Akre and father Robert Bussler, who said the experience was the highlight of his season, one he’ll never forget. Wapello County Chapter member Jake Waller, 10, of Ottumwa, Iowa, put the kibosh on his first rooster near Fremont, Iowa with a Mossberg 20 youth pump and GSH Hank. Dalton Worely of Footville, Wisconsin, writes of his first bird, “my first thought was ‘sweet.’ You couldn’t wipe the smile off my face the rest of the day!” Dillon Salyards of Haxtun, Colorado, and Shiloh celebrate his first bird. Dillon, his brother and father are members of the Frenchman Creek Chapter. Shelby Lierman of Wakefield, Nebraska, dropped her first rooster the second day of a hunt with dad Shawn Lierman & gundogs Hunter and Callie.
