Des Moines, Iowa - February 22 -

Pheasants Forever kicks off its largest event, National Pheasant Fest 2010, in grand fashion with a "Bird Dog Parade." Over 1,000 dog enthusiasts are expected in attendance as 35-40 different sporting dog breeds (70-80 dogs in total) and their owners open the show on Friday, February 26. The "Bird Dog Parade" will be led by Grand Marshal Bryan Karrick of NewsChannel 8 in Des Moines, and Chase, his black lab.

Sporting dogs will be the most popular attraction at the show, which runs Feb. 26-28 at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

The following dog breeds have already been confirmed or are expected to participate in the Bird Dog Parade: Boykin Spaniels, Brittanys, Deutsch Langhaars, English Pointers, Springer Spaniels, Field Spaniels, German Shorthairs, German Wirehaired Pointers, Munsterlanders, Small Munsterlanders, Labrador Retrievers, Llewellin Setters, Pointing Labs, Pudel Pointers, Spinone Italianos, Viszlas, Curly Coated Retrievers, German Longhair Pointers, Golden Retrievers, Irish Water Spaniels, English Setters, Red Setters, Weimaraners, Gordon Setters and more!

The National Pheasant Fest 2010 ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Friday, February 26 at 12:45PM in the main lobby of the Iowa Events Center. The Bird Dog Parade will follow at 1PM.
